about
This track ended up with a bit of a nod to my indie grunge days though it's still mainly electronic in it's production. It's about coming to a place in life where you realise you can't let yourself care so much what any one person thinks of you. The track's lyrics were inspired by a particular personal experience but now its more of a general philosophy I try to adhere to.
lyrics
Masterpiece
So tired wondering if I measure up
So you like me, so you want me
So we might be friends
Or more something better deeper down
But I found solid ground from my retreat
No win waiting for you to approve
I must make my move find my groove
Either with or without you
My life is my own masterpiece
There’s no rules so I choose
I’m my own creation
I have to remind me
I’m free if I choose to be
The creator of my reality
To remember that thin line
Between what’s yours and what’s mine
So hard when the rules are never clear
It’s about me it’s about you
It’s about nothing if I lose what I fought so hard for
In my core I feel more than poor you could cope with
But please don’t misunderstand my line
It’s just time that I climb out of pain while I’m in my prime
You too are your own masterpiece
You can’t lose if you choose
You’re your own creation
I have to remind me
I’m free if I choose to be
The creator of my reality
To remember that thin line
Between what’s yours and what’s mine
